We’re over the moon to share that Opportunity Café has won the coveted Startup Brilliance Award 2025, widely regarded as one of eastern India’s most prestigious honours for innovation and social impact.
Opportunity Skills Academy, Opportunity Café, and Opportunity Originals are interconnected initiatives of the Rescue and Relief Foundation in Kolkata. The Skills Academy provides vocational training and employment-focused skills to intellectually disabled and orphaned young adults.
Opportunity Café was born from a single, radical belief—that young adults once abandoned to circumstance could rise as architects of their own dignity—and today that belief pours from every cup brewed in our 40-seater Dum Dum flagship, where sixteen proud graduates prove possibility daily. Their spark ignited a second sanctuary in Ballygunge, its walls alive with the laughter of fourteen more baristas who’ve swapped labels for livelihoods, and now the anticipation feels electric: in January 2026, Café 3.0 will open its doors in Sector V, doubling our impact and reminding the world that when you give forgotten hearts a stage, they don’t just survive—they shine
Opportunity Originals is a socially conscious apparel brand, offering sustainable fashion while employing these young adults. Together, these initiatives promote dignity, financial independence, and societal inclusion, challenging perceptions and transforming lives through meaningful empowerment and employment opportunities for marginalized youth.
